I was a little worried about the RAVC stage, especially the panel interview, given I hadn’t done an interview for a long time. This course was exactly what I needed! Great content Russ, thanks for helping me pass this stage!

The Recruit Assessment Validation Centre (RAVC) gateway tests applicants suitability through a number of individual assessments.
It can be a stressful part of the process for applicants, but, don’t worry you can prepare for each of the assessments to help you make a good impression and achieve a competitive score.
So what’s involved in the RAVC gateway?
The assessment can involve:
This can be a stressful stage of the recruitment process for many police applicants, but, don’t worry, this is a gateway we can help you with.
I think it’s fair to say we can help police applicants achieve their dream of becoming a police officer. After all, for the last 17 years more than 6,000 applicants have taken our training, and, more than 90% of them are now police officers! How’s that for a success rate?!
Our founder, Russell Kempster, spent 14 years as a police officer in Victoria, with 4 years of that time as an instructor at the police academy. To say helping police applicants is our passion would be an understatement!
Our training is tailored specifically to meet the requirements of your police application. You can expect very detailed and comprehensive training, delivered online, via video tutorial lessons and custom software applications.
Access to the training is unlimited. You can take lessons at your own pace, when and where it suits you, and you can take the lessons, and use the applications, as many times as you like.
We’re here to help keep you moving should you have any technical support questions. We also offer a paid premium coaching support option should you want to receive personalised advice and guidance, over and above the online training, during your application journey.
When you take our online training you’ll also be invited to join our community of police applicants, from around the country, working towards the same goal – achieving their dream of becoming a police officer.
Let’s take a closer look at the training to help you with this stage of your Australian Federal Police application.
In this part of the training you’ll have access to video tutorial lessons where you’ll learn about the details of these tasks, and discover the dos and don’ts for each. I’ll also share some very detailed guidance about dealing with the individual role playing (scenarios) based on my time as a police academy instructor where I taught these exact skills to recruits during their formal academy training.
No other stage of the Police application fires me up as much as the selection panel interview. I’m determined to make sure you shine in your panel so we can maximise your score and get you an offer for the Police Academy.
Here’s what we’re going to work on in this training.
In this course, created specifically to help you ace your selection panel interview, we’re going to cover everything you need to know to be confident and ready to present the best ‘you’.
We’ll discuss the interview structure, format, and everything you need to understand before the day arrives. I’ll share the exactly what information you’ll need to remember for interview day and what info you won’t.
I’ll make sure you’re clear on how your interview will be scored so we can prepare our content to maximise it. I will teach you my 4 step framework that helped over 6000 applicants deliver the right answers the right way!
You’ll learn how to answer scenario questions using our framework to show you’re well suited for a police role, and, I’ll share more than 50 videos, recorded live from practice interviews, with specific Q&A examples to help generate ideas, from your life experiences, to come up your own great responses.
AFP applicants attending the RAVC may also be required to complete a writing task. In this part of our training I’ll take you through a course specifically to address this part of the assessment. You’ll have access to comprehensive video tutorial lessons with detailed example writing tasks to make sure you’re clear about how to structure your response article should you need to take the writing test.
Applicants may also be required to take an observation test. I’ll explain in detail what you can expect here. You’ll also have access to a course, with video tutorial lessons, to help you understand what you need to be looking out for and how to structure your responses to the observation task questions.
If you’re an Australian Federal Police applicant and you’re preparing for the Recruit Assessment Validation Centre gateway, this training covers everything you need to know and much more!
We’ll help you understand what to expect at this gateway to ease your mind.
The RAVC tests can be broken into five assessments. Applicants may be required to participate in some or all of these assessments. The assessments can be done in person or online (AFP will advise you).
Find out what to expect at your RAVC and what steps you can take to prepare for each component of testing.
Part of your Recruit Assessment Validation Centre involves a group exercise and presentation, and an individual role playing scenario. We’ll share insight about these activities so you know what to expect and we’ll teach you how to approach the typical role playing scenarios to help you demonstrate good aptitude and make a great impression.
You wouldn’t be the first applicant who was nervous about fronting up to a selection panel interview, but, don’t worry, by the end of this course you’ll be better prepared, have a clearer mind and be more confident than you thought you ever could be.
We’ll take you through a very comprehensive process where you’ll identify the information you need to know, what life experiences you need to offer, how to structure your responses, and how to deal with each question type that is coming your way.
This is our most comprehensive program and has helped more than 6000 applicants to become officers since 2006. An easy to follow video course with follow along workbook will have you feeling confident and ready for your police selection panel interview!
I’ll take you through my process for identifying key points from the sample content and show you how to build out a great written response, even if you think you’re not a good writer!
The observation task, as the names suggests, tests your ability to identify important information and key elements within a short video or still image. We’ll explain this in more detail in this course and share some effective strategies for dealing with this part of your application. You’ll also have access to sample tests as part of this course.

Russ! I was looking back on my journey and realised I could not have done any of it without your help. I graduated on Friday, along side 5 others that were all involved in your program! Your program is one of a kind. Thank you for all of your support.

If you’d like help with 1 stage of your application, the 1 Month or 3 Months prepay option might be the best fit for you. However, if you’re early in your journey and would like help with multiple testing stages, the 6 or 12 month prepay options are significantly discounted.
That’s entirely your choice! You could:
Yep, just select the one-month pricing option, then submit the cancel membership form at least 24 hours before the next payment is due and you’re done.
As a member, you’ll have access to everything, the cost is determined by how long you stay on as a member, not by the courses you access.
We have courses that are specifically tailored on a state by state basis. As a member you’ll get access to all the training courses for all the states/territories, so regardless of which state you are applying for we’ve got you covered!
No. However, you can cancel it at any time.
When you cancel your membership you will continue to have full access until the end of the paid period.
Good question! It really comes down to your application time frame and how much help you’d like. If you’re early in the application process we suggest considering the 6 or 12-month pricing option. If you’re already well into the journey, the one or 3-month pricing option might be more suitable.
We do not offer refunds, so please be sure the program is right for you before making a commitment. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us!
We’ll do everything in our power to help and support you to succeed. The membership is a self-paced program, if you need personalised private coaching with Russ, or you’d like your work to be individually critiqued on a one-off basis, there are paid options available.
Not necessarily. When you’re on the monthly payments, they’re processed every 30 days. The actual date is shown on your previous payment receipt.
In life? Nope, however, Russ has been passionately helping police applicants for more than 17 years. Over 6,000 applicants have come through our program, 90% of them are now police officers. In the unlikely event you take our course and don’t pass that stage of the application, we will give you free access to that course again for 30 days when you reapply.
