Russell Kempster

Russell is passionate about helping people to achieve their dream of becoming a police officer. He was a police officer himself for 14 years and spent 4 years as an instructor at the Victoria Police Academy where he was involved in applicant testing, training new recruits and delivering refresher and advanced courses to experienced police officers in subjects ranging in everything from fitness to firearms.

Applying to join Victoria Police is a difficult process, it’s challenging, and it’s very, very competitive. The video interview is the perfect opportunity to make a great impression early on and to boost your applicant score above other applicants.
Do not treat the video interview as a formality. Applicants have and will continue to fail at this stage of the application. Take this step seriously. You’ll kick yourself if you have to wait 12 months to start over again if you thought it was wise to just “wing it”. That’s entirely your choice! You could:
- Do nothing and allow the monthly payments of $99 to commence (for as many months as you like)
- Prepay a further period of 3, 6 or 12 months [additional discounts ($50/$100/$200) on top of these discounts is applied for existing PMT members], or
- You can submit the cancel membership form any time before (at least 24 hours) the monthly payments are due to commence. Example: you could prepay for 6 months and submit the cancellation form after one month if you like. You will still have full access until the end of your prepaid period before the membership would expire automatically. Note: We will send you plenty of reminders when your prepaid period is ending.

We have courses that are specifically tailored on a state by state basis. As a member you’ll get access to all the training courses for all the states/territories, so regardless of which state you are applying for we’ve got you covered!

Good question! It really comes down to your application time frame and how much help you’d like. If you’re early in the application process we suggest considering the 6 or 12-month pricing option. If you’re already well into the journey, the one or 3-month pricing option might be more suitable.
