Police Applicant First Aid Course
If you’re a Victoria Police Applicant, one of the requirements before Victoria Police will offer you a position is that you hold the relevant first aid qualification. Your qualification needs to be valid at the time you commence your recruit training at the academy, for the duration of your academy training and for a period of 12 months after graduating.
The Qualification Required and Then Some!
There are a lot of qualification levels and courses available for the purposes of teaching first aid to different industries for different requirements, however, our course is put together specifically to meet the needs of our Victoria Police applicants. Basic Emergency Life Support (Level 1) gives the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support and also the management of casualties until the arrival of higher trainer medical assistance. This course meets the current minimum requirements for Victoria Police entry to the Police Academy.
Your first aid certificate is valid for a period of 3 years from successful completion of the course. Victoria Police now instructs applicants who successfully pass the telephone interview to have their first aid certificate to present at their Selection Panel Interview.
Course participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited course – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support HLTAID002. Certificates are issued within two days of successful completion of the course.
CPR 12 Month Refresher Update
The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills be refreshed annually. If your CPR qualification is due for renewal we can help you with this too, please contact us for details.
Our Police First Aid Training Course is delivered face to face over 3 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of CPR Training and Basic Emergency Life Support. Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement.
